"Nothing ventured, nothing gained."

There is an old Chinese proverb that says, “if you do not enter the tiger’s cave, you will not catch its cub,” which means ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained.’ In January 2023, SGW Lab moved to a new studio.
Originally, the plan was to expand the previous studio a bit, but luckily, we ended up with a larger space. Of course, the cost was also high, and I was very worried. Nevertheless, I decided to take on the challenge of pursuing new production possibilities in the larger studio.

Moreover, the collaboration with Miyu, which began in 2016, marks its 7th year. These collaboration pots have always been produced with our highest level of technique, and our regular collaboration allows us to recognize that both of us are improving our skills as the studio expands.　

In this exhibition, you can see the tiger pots inspired by “If you do not enter the tiger’s cave, you will not catch its cub,” collaboration pots with Miyu, and other new creations. I think it turned out to be an ideal exhibition for the first exhibition in the new studio.
